Street Health is a non-profit community based agency that improves the health of homeless and under-housed people in Toronto. Their work is focused in the neighbourhood around Dundas and Sherbourne Streets, an area with the largest concentration of homeless shelters and drop-in centres in Canada.
Street Health goals were to update to their out of date website with one that their staff could easily update. In making the switch, they wanted to have the website more informative and easier to use. The ability to have a branded donation page, a blog and better way of managing emails to contacts and press were important elements of the project.
Northern Village implemented the site, using the Northern Village CMS a software that allows clients to easily update their own website. Northern Village moved the existing content to a wire-frame website and worked with Street Health staff to reorganize the website to reflect current priorities, ensuring that different constituencies have easy access to the information they need. Also implemented was a blog using WordPress.com, a MailChimp email newsletter, and a donation page using IATS payments.
