The client

Rebecca Thompson, a Guelph-based speech-language pathologist, provides assessment and speech therapy for children with speech and language delays. Her approach is child- and family-centred, and she provides responsive services to families as soon as issues arise in the belief that early intervention promotes the best results. She helps children to build communication skills in their own homes, and coaches their parents and caregivers to do the same.

Client goals

Rebecca primarily wanted a website that would educate prospective clients on what speech and language therapy looks like and how it will proceed from assessment to therapy. The website also needed to be non-intimidating and warm to encourage parents and caregivers to seek help as soon as possible, rather than get bogged down in intimidating detail.

Implementation

We always encourage our clients to develop, as in this case, content that is targeted, clear, and concise. The more clear the language, the more search engine-friendly the website.
