GIS Public Health
Introduction to GIS for Public Health is an Open Learning course run through the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph. The program is a way for individuals with a University or College post-secondary education or formal work experience in Public Health or a related field to further their knowledge and expand their employment opportunities in this field.
The client wanted to promote a their new course to professional practitioners currently working in public health and/or epidemiology or for recent university or college graduates interested in gaining employment in this field. It was vital to create an environment where student can easily access information on what knowledge they will gain through this course. The appearance of the site needed to adhere to University of Guelph standards and have easy registration for potential students.
Northern Village created an easily updated website through our CMS to effectively and easily represent the GIS for Public Health course. The site easily facilities registration, answers any question potential students have through an FAQ, and generally provides the necessary information to achieve the client’s goals.
The site is optimized for viewing on mobile devices, tablets and computer screens, while having the content entered only once.
