The client

The GMOs are a rock’n’roll band formed of members Len Kahn, Doug Larson, Rob McLean and Owen Roberts.

Client goals

Finding the program they were using, Contribute, was both cumbersome and limiting, the GMOs wanted to transfer their website over to something more flexible and self-maintainable. As musicians, it was important to have a website that could easily be updated in order to include upcoming shows, videos, music, a photo gallery etc.

Implementation

Northern Village transferred the previously existing website over to Village CMS in order to make it easy to navigate and self-maintainable. An image map was uploaded to the about section, providing pop up bios of each member. Each biography can be independently updated in order to add important information and get rid of obsolete. In order to connect with fans, a twitter feed was added to the website as well as a ‘book us’ link that connects to the band’s e-mail. Links to upcoming shows, music, photo galleries and videos were also added to the website in order to further promote the band and connect them to the ever growing virtual body of musicians.
